People who succeed on LinkedIn have different habits from those who don't. Here are 8 habits that might be stopping you from succeeding on LinkedIn.
1. You don't have a clear goal
Make sure you know what you want. Break your goals down into measurable steps. Break down your objectives into monthly milestones.
2. You want a pretty profile
It doesn't take a $500 LinkedIn banner or a $1000 headshot to stand out. It needs a goal, a content plan, and some posts every week.
3. You are afraid of making mistakes
You're afraid of building in public. You're afraid of nobody liking you. Don't let your fears hold you back. Create content. It won't get traction right away. But eventually, it will.
4. You don't have a content plan
Sit down and think. Decide what kind of content you need. What kind of content would attract your ideal clients and what kind of content would you like to be known for.
5. You don't create content
Creating content is the single most important thing you can do. If you fail at it, you fail at everything. Write every day or at least three times a week.
6. You scroll all the time
The more you consume, the less you create. Allow yourself to consume content for a while and then push yourself to create.
7. You don't engage
Engage. 70% of the game is creating content, and 30% is engaging with others' content. Reply to comments. Comment meaningfully.
8. You DM a lot
You can't just start selling in DMs. If they don’t know you they won’t buy from you. Let them get to know you.
Don't let these destructive habits hold you back on Linkedin. Get your goals straight. Create strategic content. Engage and grow.
