The science of connections

Success isn't about the number of connections you have.

It's about the quality of those connections.

And here's the science behind it:

In the 1990s, evolutionary psychologist Robin Dunbar discovered the concept of Dunbar's number.

This theory says humans can only have 150 stable relationships at a time.

What does this mean for you and your personal brand on LinkedIn?

It means that instead of trying to connect with as many people as possible, you should focus on building meaningful relationships with a select few individuals who share your professional interests and goals.

By investing your time and energy into nurturing these relationships, you can build a stronger and more impactful network that will help you succeed in your career.

But why does the number matter?

Well, the key is in the word "meaningful".

The more meaningful your relationships are, the more likely it is that your connections will be able to help you achieve your goals.

They'll be more invested in your success and more likely to go out of their way to help you when you need it.

So, if you're looking to build a successful personal brand on LinkedIn, forget about the numbers game.

Instead, focus on building deeper connections with those who matter most.

That’s it for this week.

Whenever you're ready, here are 3 ways I can help:

  1. Get my LinkedIn Guide

  2. Get my Carousel Guide

  3. DM for a 1:1 Consultation

I just have one request.

If you like my newsletter, the best compliment you can give me is to forward it to one friend who you think would get something out of it.

See you again next week.

Cheers,
