Your brand is many things.
But it's nothing without a story.
Think of Gary Vaynerchuk, Chris Do, and Justin Welsh.
Think of Shay Rowbottom, Lea Turner, and Amelia Sordell.
If you know any of them, you know these three things about them:
How did they start?
What was their struggle?
How did they get where they are?
In other words, you know their story.
If you want to position yourself as an expert start with your expert story.
Tell people 3 things:
The problem you had?
The solution you struggled for?
The solution, that they can use?
Your story can get people to follow you, trust you, and buy from you.
Here's my story to help you write yours:
They gave me the last last last chance.
10 years ago, my disappointed and devastated parents gave me the final chance.
The last chance to do something meaningful with my life.
I choose to leave everything I had then.
I choose to leave the student politics, my comrades, and the unlimited leisure we had.
I choose to leave my comfort zone.
Unsure of where'd I live and what'd I do, I moved to Islamabad.
Welcome to Islamabad The Beautiful, the billboards read.
Back then, I didn't know soon I would be writing the same billboards,
... and articles, and websites, and scripts, and stories, and a thousand other things.
Back then, I didn't know soon I would become a journalist and a copywriter,
... and a strategist, and a storyteller and a dozen other things.
The point is none of this would have happened if I hadn't left my comfort zone.
Leave your comfortzone!
Hope it helps!
P.S. Sorry for sending this on Sunday instead of Saturday, I’m in my hometown for Eid holidays.
P.S.S. Next week, I'll show you how to create content that builds authority and gets you more traction on LinkedIn.
